A serial RS232 interface is now no longer available on newer hardware, the DIGITUS USB Type-C serial adapter enables data exchange between a USB Type-C port on the computer and peripherals with serial interface (COM port, RS232), such as weather stations, sensors, machine controls, set-top boxes, game consoles, PDAs, scanners, modems, ISDN adapter and many other peripherals. The USB Type-C serial adapter is backward compatible with USB1.1 and allows customizable baud rates between 75 bits and 128,000 bits per second. Thanks to the individually configurable FTDI chipset, compatibility of all common operating systems is offered, as well as power management and remote wake-up is supported.
